Vichy to Gruissan, France

Saturday 26th October 2019

We continued on South today heading for the Mediterranean. On the journey we stopped for lunch in a parking area with a view of an iron bridge built by Gustave Eiffel, although worth a stop to look we didn’t feel it was as big a deal as the French obviously did.

Back on the road we crossed the Millau Viaduct bridge, very impressive in pictures but although nearly as high as the Eiffel Tower it felt less impressive in person. As we approached it looked like it was going to be scary but high side barriers meant you couldn’t see over and in fast flowing traffic if you weren’t paying attention you could have missed it.

Finally was saw the sea and in glorious sunshine we parked up in a marina aire in Gruissan. Fabulous for people watching we took a walk around one of the largest marinas we have ever been to. From super yachts to tiny dinghys they had every marine vessel going. Neil enjoyed

pointing out every boat he’d ever sailed on or his family owned while we looked for cocktail bars.

Overnight Location: Gruissan Marina Aire, France
