A strange bread man’s horn woke us for the final day of May, no-one needs morning alarms on European Aires as the trusted bread man’s bell or horn is sure to wake all.
Another German day saw more road closures and diversions. We followed down the Mosel River on some scenic roads and through some very pretty towns until we found a place to stop for lunch. Dasvid and Lisa opted for traditional bratwurst, but it was Pizza and Pasta for us Shazellios.
After lunch with no idea where we’d be sleeping we drove further along The Mosel till we hit Koblenz and The Rhine. A quick look through the camper contact App found a large aire with high reviews so this would be the stop over.
We arrived in Anderbach, a walled town on the edge of the Rhine. The aire was a mix of Motorhome spaces and car parking bays in which people had parked in all sorts of ways and angles. A nice Dutch chap approached us to try to explain where we could park but his suggestions were crazy so thanked him and discreetly moved away from him and found spaces at the back of the site out the way.
A short walk along the river and we found the town quite interesting, certainly not touristy but plenty to see and do. Still lovely and warm, we had a drink in a riverside bar before returning to the vans for dinner alfresco.
During the early evening the car park behind our vans began filling up with teenage boy racers, their party went on until midnight, but they caused no harm and liked showing off their cars.
