With one week to go, we are doing the last minute preparations for our next XXL Motorhome Trip. This one will be the third in our series of One Big European (OBE) Tours, which have previously seen us hit Southern Europe in 2013 and 2014 accompanied by our friends in their similar sized motorhome. This time we will be heading north east to the Baltic states and trying to find a happy medium between too hot and too cold, whilst avoiding mosquitos.

The preparations for this trip have not been cheap with our clutch starting to slip on a trip to London last week. We decided that it wasn’t worth risking it failing on the trip so took an £800+ hit and got it replaced by our Fiat Van main dealer. It was a good job we did because the mechanic told us it was about to fail and would have probably taken the flywheel out when it did.

We have also bought a mobile air conditioning unit especially designed for motorhomes/caravans. This was to help keep our two golden retrievers cool, but in reality will probably just guarantee that we don’t get the weather that will need it.
The weather is one of our unknowns with this trip and we have reserved the right to change our minds and head south at any point on the trip. We do have a reservation on a Baltic ferry for part of the trip home, but this can be cancelled with a full refund if we give them a couple of days notice.

Once we set off we should be posting daily with overnight location details, live tracking links, loads of photos, videos and general gossip regarding the mundane holiday activities of a couple of motorhomes full of adults, kids and dogs. Feel free to use our social media or email notification links on this page to make sure you are fully up to date with the trip.
